Hi, I’m Patsy.
I used to own a restaurant called Sticky’s Chicken with my brother. We started our business in 2014 as a food truck in Houston. We were able to do a lot of cool things with it like national music festivals, Super Bowl LI, local festivals, Houston sports events and even met local and national celebrities along the way.
We opened the doors to our first brick & mortar January 11, 2020, right before the pandemic. The following year was nothing but trying to recover and celebrating survival of the pandemic. After 2 years of trying to get over that 2020 slump, I had to make the brave decision of cutting ties with that location and permanently close Sticky’s Chicken Sawyer Yards.
I never set a path for myself to be an entrepreneur. In fact, I always wanted to work for corporate America and make my way up the chain of command of a big company and lead the way. It just never dawned on me that I could do that with my own. So there I was, running my own company from 2014 - 2022. I’m not done yet. That part of the chapter just needed to end. Well it’s technically not over yet until the rest of the dust settles, but I still have more up my sleeve.
It’s funny, because my background isn’t even in food. I graduated from the University of Houston with a BS in Kinesiology. All my jobs after that have always been in either health and wellness or somehow related to the medical field. Now I’m in an industry that brightens people’s lives, even if it’s only for a moment! Food, is my love language.
